Hi everyone. It's almost 7am on Sunday morning, and Thea and I are due to go to the airport to get ourselves to Berlin to join the tour group.
We're both really excited, and will obviously let you all know how it goes when we get a chance. Perhaps we will be able to do a tour update post while we're away.
I've copied out itinerary for the tour below in case you're interested.
Bye!!

BERLIN
After breakfast we will have a comprehensive city driving tour. Many years have passed since the
collapse of the Berlin Wall, once separating East from West. Discover the outstanding sights and
museums as we see the famous Victory Monument, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Ku'Dam and the
World-renowned Zoo. Stop at the Checkpoint Charlie Museum and travel down the Unter Den Linden
in former East Berlin. We can go on an optional Third Reich walking tour with a local guide to get a
different perspective of this fascinating city. The rest of the day is ours to enjoy. Tonight there is an
optional Pub Crawl after dinner to get to know the hottest bars in this exciting city. (B)
Tuesday, August 26
BERLIN TO PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
Today we travel to 800 year old Dresden, then on to the Czech Republic and the beautiful city of a
thousand spires, Prague. Home to the memorable Charles Bridge, Hradcany Castle, the Old Jewish
Quarter, Powder Tower, Tyne Church, and of course the wonderfully named Wenceslas Square where
Czechoslovakia's Velvet Revolution took place. We will see all these historic places on our late
afternoon walking tour. (B, D)
Wednesday, August 27
This city will amaze and captivate you, from the trams rumbling along the streets and the artists around
Charles Bridge, to the old traditional Inns and hand-made puppets. Prague has it all! We have plenty of
free time today to wander around the historic city centre, lunch in one of the local cafes, and enjoy the
excellent (and cheap) local beer. (B)
Thursday, August 28
PRAGUE TO KRAKOW, POLAND
Next stop is Krakow, the former capital of Poland. Krakow miraculously escaped the destruction of
World War 2. The atmosphere of the city is concentrated around Rynek Glowny (the market square)
and the old town. (B, D)
Friday, August 29
KRAKOW
This morning we will go for a sombre visit to the memorial camps of Birkenau and Auschwitz. We'll
have time during the afternoon to wander around the narrow streets of Krakow, explore the Wawel
castle hill, shop in the Cloth hall markets for great Polish souvenirs or visit one of the many cellar or
courtyard bars. If we prefer, take a trip out to the famous salt mines, or perhaps a Schindler tour of the
Jewish ghetto. (B)
Saturday, August 30
KRAKOW TO BUDAPEST, HUNGARY (VIA SLOVAKIA)
Today we travel via Slovakia into Hungary and the capital of Budapest. This is one of Europe's most
romantic cities and is situated on both sides of the river Danube; beautiful old Buda on one side with
Page 2 of 4
the bustling district of Pest on the other. On arrival we will have a driving tour of this famous city. (B,

Sunday, August 31
BUDAPEST
Today is ours to explore Budapest at leisure, seeing all the sights the city has to offer. See the
Liberation Memorial, Roosevelt Square, Chain Bridge, St Mathias' Cathedral, and Fisherman's Bastion.
There's time to explore the Castle District with its cobbled streets and network of underground tunnels,
or visit one of the famous bathhouses for a massage and perhaps do some shopping. (B)
Monday, September 01
BUDAPEST
Our trip finishes this morning after breakfast. (B)
